Hawaii Part 2

Family Vacation to Hawaii
Part 2

Day 4....
Anaehoomalu Beach
Connor could not wait to get to the beach.  Every time we put his swimsuit on he excitedly yelled, "water, water, water!!"

Anaehoomalu Beach is a popular place to spot sea TURTLES.  We were so excited to get our first glimpse.  They are such amazing creatures!

The sand at this beach was very rough & coarse, however the kids still managed to have fun!

The Lesters rented a canoe and let the kids paddle around.  Maddie LOVED it!

White plumeria FLOWERS were everywhere!  They were so beautiful and perfect that they didn't seem real.  If you wear the flower on the left side, it indicates you are married and if you wear it on the right side you are single.
Note to all boys, Bradley girls are completely off limits till they turn 20!! :-)

After the beach the kids took a quick dip in the hot tub.

Once we all got cleaned up from the beach we took some pictures around the BEAUTIFUL resort we were staying at.

 Luau
(still day 4 by the way.... very long busy days & we loved every minute!)

The girls learned how to use POI balls while we waited for all the guests to arrive.

The pork we ate for dinner was a whole pig cooked in an IMU which is an underground pit.  We actually got to watch them dig it up just minutes before eating.
I LOVED watching and hearing the ocean waves crash behind the stage as the hula girls and fire dancers performed.  We also got an amazing view of the SUNSET!

Day 5...
Kona

Here we are checking out a lava tube on the side of the road just north of Kona.

In Kona we explored the shops along the waterfront.  The Scandanavian Ice shop had the BIGGEST shaved ice we have ever seen!

After shopping we went to White Sands Beach.  It was a much smaller beach with BIGGER waves, perfect for boogie boarding!

Our days were so jam packed with fun, we all went to bed completely exhausted each night.  This was the kids attempt at watching a movie. :-)

Day 6...
Last day, so sad!!

Back to our favorite beach, HAPUNA BAY!!

While GOGGLING (snorkeling with goggles in stead of a traditional snorkel mask, yes we made this up & the patent is pending, he he) we had a nice surprise.  A sea turtle swam right next to us.  We could not believe it!!
If you look close you can see the turtle's head peaking out of the water.  Edward swam right beside it for several yards.  So COOL!!
We soaked up as much sun and water as we could on our last day.
Thanks again to the Lesters for inviting us to celebrate Scott's 50th birthday in Hawaii.  MAHALO!!!

Here is a snapshot looking back at the airport as we board the plane and say good bye to the Big Island of Hawaii.  ALOHA!!!!
