Our Family Trip to Hawaii!!!

Part 1

A special shout out to our AWESOME friends Scott and Missy Lester who invited us to join them on a trip to Hawaii.  :-)  Thank you!!

Day One..... 

Arriving at the airport and getting settled in.

The Kona Airport.  I LOVE this airport!  There are no enclosed buildings.  It is only the cute huts you see in the picture.  Here we are after we got off the plane and started walking into the airport.

 

This picture shows you what a lot of the big island looks like, LOTS of black volcano rock.

Here is our condo at the Bay Club at Waikaloa Beach Resort.

Day two....

Hapuna Bay!!

There are only 3 white sand beaches on the Big Island.  This one ended up being our favorite one.  Look at the beautiful BLUE water!

Look mom no buckets or shovels!! Maddie and Kate had fun playing in the sand with nothing but their hands. :-)

 

Here is Edward and Belva (Missy's mom) relaxing on the beach.  I love the SCENERY behind them.

Of course Connor loved playing in the sand (it is dirt after all and he is 100% BOY)!!

  

Day Three....

Volcano National Park!

 We went on a guided tour with park Ranger Moses.  Here is our group looking out over the Kilauea Volcano.

It turns out the rain forest part of the island is located at Volcano national Park, quite the opposite of what we expected.

 Abby and Tommy Lester were so CUTE together.

 Here is our family at the entrance to the Thurston Lava Tube and then walking through it.  It was so COOL!!

 Here are the kiddos (minus Connor per he was being a 2 year old at the moment): Maddy, Maddie, Abby, Tommy, Kate & Xantha.

This is at a look out by the Jaggar Museum.  That is one hot couple, see the steam coming off of them (oh wait that's the volcano, he he!)
