In the end of January MADELINE had a special birthday. She turned EIGHT!!!! Here are the photos:
Her birthday just happened to fall on HAT DAY at school.
Of course her hat of choice was a PARTY HAT!!
On the weekend we had a SLEEPOVER birthday party for her friends.
The girls ate pizza, made crafts, played games and daddy did MAGIC TRICKS.
(I know you are thinking that I am a crazy mom to agree to this, well you are right!! When Madeline was much younger, she begged for a sleepover. I told her she could have one when she turned 8, thinking that day would never really come. Lucky for me (he he) she did not forget. So we agreed that we would go ahead and have ONE and then never again. So the invitations were sent out with an apology to the parents and an option for me to bring their child home at bedtime).

I know, we are dreading the sleepover party as well. It looks like it was a great time. Did you make the cake yourself? It looks great! You are an amazing cook!
Luv,
Missy
i would pay off my kids before hosting a sleepover-you are nuts.
and how come kids dont remember to clean off the table and you ask them every day of their life-but when you make one promise about a sleepover they remember that forever!?
Going forward we will do late night parties instead. The kids still get to have all the fun of the sleep over, but then you take them home and let their parents deal with their sugar high and lack of desire to go to sleep! :-)
BA I wish I could figure out the selective memory thing. It seems to work the same in husbands. Very frustrating!
Missy I did make the cake. It was a last minute thing I threw together. It is actually the worst one I have done, but Madeline loved it, so all is well.
